It’s like a clap of thunder in the gaming community after a leak pointed out about Counter-Strike 2 game, for which gamers have been waiting for the last 10 years.

And now, another report has been published by renowned esports journalist Richard Lewis that clarifies more details regarding the new Counter-Strike game, so let’s begin the discussion below.

Counter-Strike 2 Would Be a New Version of CS:GO

Counter-Strike 2 Would Be a New Version of CS:GO

It all started when Nvidia released the latest graphics driver, version 531.18, last week, in which many users found support for Counter-Strike 2 as there were executable files with names like “cs2.exe” and “csgos2.exe“.

And then, Richard Lewis’s report brings more light to the information as he noted various points about this new Counter-Strike game from Valve Studios, which he got from sources close to the situation.

Firstly, the game is driven by the company’s Source 2 engine, which will deliver better graphics and performance, and also, they have already used this engine for their other games, such as Half-Life: Alyx, which is a VR game.

This is not the only upgrade that Valve will introduce; there will be more upgrades, such as 128-tick servers, as the previous tick rate of the servers was 64.

With that, Valve is also bringing improvements to the matchmaking system of this game.

Besides, the game studios have started the game tests as they call some professional Counter-Strike players to their offices in Seattle.

Currently, there is no official statement regarding this game and its launch date. As the report noted, the game is currently in its testing phase, so we would see its launch in a month.

Still, there is no confirmation of its name as there is a lack of version information.

It may named as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive 2 if the company is actually making it as a new version with upgrades or if the company is making a completely new game, so it may call Counter-Strike 2.
